Born to Win
Win Sports Detergent is a boutique startup out of Brooklyn, NY. We partnered up in early 2019 and boy, have we come a long way in just 20 months. At that time, they were ranked on page one for two terms: “Win Sports Detergent” and “detergent sports clothes”(40 searches/month).
The detergent category is super competitive, as industries valued over 100 billion tend to be. We knew we had our work cut out for us. We needed a content strategy that would target some longer tail keywords and go beyond what the big brands were doing online. Our solution was to concentrate on “how to” for specific sports clothing items and brand names.
An example of the former would be “how to wash football gloves” and the latter “how to clean lularoe leggings”. So, we got to work on research, built out some blogs, optimized for many longtail keywords and made sure the layout was conducive to being selected as a Google rich snippets. We watched with glee as they continued to climb the ranks, eventually snagging the highly coveted “Position Zero Snippet” treatment.
Results like these two and many other “how to” blogs (see screenshot below) contributed to a steady climb in rankings, traffic and authority for Win Detergent. Organic Traffic up by 468% over the same period the year before.
